Four Sisters Cafe

3609 Shire Blvd., Richardson, TX, 75082
(972) 664-9975 - Venue Website

Opened June 16, 2011.

Dale Wamstad's new Four Sisters Cafe opened last night in Richardson. It's billed as "true American," and the fairly brief menu proposes starters such as Sushi Axiom rolls, flat breads, fried things (zucchini, onion rings), something called a grilled quail's nest and a crab and avocado cocktail. There are few salads and sandwiches; mains include roasted chicken, flat iron steak, salmon Allesandra, beef tenderloin and the like.

The chef is Pat Cheatham. Wamstad, whose three children are working at Four Sisters as their entree into the restaurant business, worked with the Sushi Axiom people to create the sushi component of the menu. That's fresh, no? And "grilled quail's nest" is grilled quail on a bed of potato chips.

Not worth the price

The atmosphere is great but the food is sub-par. My wife and I went on Saturday (07/09/2011). Ordered the flat-bread and a crab cocktail for appetizers. The flat-bread was good..just good. The crab cocktail was also just good. The cocktail cost $15 and came in a small martini glass, for the price we were expecting something a little larger. Since it wasn't we hoped that the cocktail would be something special...it was not.
Main course we had the chicken and red fish, both of these items were good..just good, nothing special. We also ordered the fries and macaroni and cheese. The fries limp and the macaroni and cheese was just awful.
The dinner was not presented well and came with very small helpings of potato and vegetables. The fish and chicken were generous portions though.
Bottom line: This restaurant in my opinion can be compared to Furr's cafeteria standards. The food was just okay , the price is double of what it should be. For the two of us the dinner came to be $75. This was without any alcohol and did not include the tip.
I would suggest either going to Macaroni and Grill for better food and half the price or adding another $50 and going to SilverFox or Two Forks. While these restaurants are more expensive the food is wonderful and makes the price seem worthwhile.
Not kid friendly..if you have children must sit in back area since " no high chairs allowed in main area".
