Visual Arts Building - UT Dallas

Art exhibits and performances at the University of Texas-Dallas (which is actually in Richardson) have doubled during the last two years. Their visual art building's classrooms and student bulletin boards have become part of the art for cutting-edge exhibits by guest curators like Victoria Corcoran, while artists from the Continental Gin Studios in Deep Ellum have also been among those shown in the gallery. Guest lecturers have included Rolling Stone magazine's Greil Marcus. Also, in the 500 seat Conference Center and 200 seat Jonsson Performance Hall, UTD has staged more than 20 performances by a world of musicians, including Moscow pianist Dmitri Ratser, the Huaxia Ensemble of China, Mexico's Los Tiempos Pasados and Dallas' own Cafe Noir. Art shows are free, admission is usually charged for lectures, concerts and theater.
