World AIDS Day Ceremony – “30 Years Later: Living with AIDS – Living with Love” will be held at the Community Unitarian Universalist Church of Plano, 2875 East Parker Rd., Plano, Texas 75074 beginning at 7:00 PM. No charge, open to the public – donations welcomed. In observance of the 30th anniversary of HIV/AID, C.U.R.E. (Community, Unity, Respect, Education, Inc.), Community Unitarian Universalist Church and Health Services of North Texas have partnered to bring to North Texas a touching ceremony that will be held in the traditional manner of early World AIDS Day ceremonies. Sixteen panels of the internationally acclaimed AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed. Rev. Patrick Price will preside over the ceremony and guest speakers Roseann Rossetti, President/Co-founder of C.U.R.E. and Dale McEowen, Medical Case Manager/Site Manager, Health Services of North Texas will bring special messages. The ceremony will include the unfurling of a block, the reading of names, dedication of new panels to the AIDS Memorial Quilt, ceremonial lighting of the candles, special music selections. Anyone unable to attend the ceremony, but would like to have someone remembered who has been lost to AIDS, can submit their name to the email address above.
