Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, Plano's largest park, is approximately 800 acres located along Rowlett Creek in eastern Plano. The park extends from Parker Road on the south to Chaparral Road on the north and from Spring Creek Parkway on the west to future Los Rios Boulevard on the east.
The first phase of park improvements included utilities and parking spaces to support special events, such as the Plano Balloon Festival, adjacent to Spring Creek Parkway. This work was completed in 2003.
Phase 2 was completed in September 2005 prior to the park hosting the Plano Balloon Festival. Improvements included seating for 1000 persons on terraces and native Texas limestone retaining walls, permanent sound and lights, an entertainment roof structure, comfortable and convenient restroom facilities, and production control room; all in a wildland setting for music and performing arts.
The information on this page pertains to Phase 3 of the project. For comments or questions, please contact Mr. Bill Dakin, Landscape Architect/Project Manager, at 972-941-7271 or billd@plano.gov
