The Aparicio family purchased the Tortilla Factory in 1989 and expanded it from a favorite take-out outlet to a restaurant that could seat 40 diners. The loyal following grew, and Aparicio's expanded again to accommodate up to 75. Word of mouth and numerous rave reviews from restaurant critics all over Texas have drawn increasingly enthusiastic crowds- most of whom instantly became regulars- and have prompted Juan Aparicio to pull out all the stops and expand his business into the full-service Mexican restaurant he and his wife, Martina, have always dreamed of owning. A lifelong quest for personal improvement and a commitment to family and community have allowed the Aparicios to rise above the limitations of their childhood to achieve the American dream. They are visibly proud of the reputation their quality homemade food and clean kitchen have earned. The Tortilla Factory that supplies the Dallas Cowboys and a number of grocery stores, has been named "Best Business Power Lunch" and has ranked among D Magazine's top 15 Mexican restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
