2017 Bell Helicopter Fort Worth Alliance Air Show
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron and the U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper Demonstration Team will soar through the North Texas skies at the Bell Helicopter Fort Worth Alliance Air Show Oct. 28-29 at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. This world-class air show also includes, among others, the Bell 429, U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight, Patriot Parachute Team, Michael Goulian sponsored by Aviall, Sean D. Tucker and Team Oracle, Trojan Phlyers, Shockwave Jet Truck, Bob Carlton in the Super Salto Jet Sailplane, national aerobatic champion Rob Holland, stunt pilot Gene Soucy with wing walker Teresa Stokes and Cavanaugh Flight Museum. “The Blue Angels have been wowing audiences since they were formed in 1946, making them one of the oldest aerobatic teams in the world,” said Tom Harris, president of Alliance Air Productions, producer of the event and a nonprofit organization, a Hillwood Development Company. “In addition to remarkable performances in the sky, the air show is an aviation festival with many activities to enjoy on the ground for the entire family.” With more than 120,000 attendees expected, this is one of the biggest community events in North Texas. See a variety of static and historical displays, explore the Discovery Zone interactive exhibits and simulators and enjoy the Kids Zones featuring the world’s largest inflatable slide plus a variety of aviation-themed inflatables. Proceeds from the air show have benefited local nonprofit organizations. Since 2006, more than $620,000 has been distributed to more than 60 nonprofit organizations, including over $199,000 to beneficiaries such as Carry the Load, USO of Dallas/Fort Worth and Hope for the Brave. This year’s proceeds will benefit both local nonprofit organizations and local school district STEM programs. General admission is free and parking discounts are available now at Other options and a limited amount of premium upgrade seating are available for purchase. Gates open at 9 a.m. and performances begin around 10 a.m.

2017 Dirk Nowitzki Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic
All proceeds benefit The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation. It is back! The Dirk Nowitzki Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic will take center court on September 16th at the SMU Tennis Complex in Dallas. The Dallas Mavericks legend will be on court along with actor Ben Stiller, former Grand Slam champion Andy Roddick, and other celebrities and tennis pros, as they compete in a round-robin Pro-Am tournament. The second annual event promises to be great fun for sponsors, celebrities, and spectators alike. The proceeds benefit The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation, which provides grants to charities that support education, health and well-being of needy kids locally and around the globe. Artists known primarily as painters, such as Pablo Picasso and Willem de Kooning, have taken up sculpture to think through problems or seek alternative experiences, while sculptors frequently turn to drawing and other two-dimensional media to plan future projects, explore their perceptions of existing work, or let their imaginations wander. This selection from the Nasher’s permanent collection will present a conversation among sculptures, paintings, and works on paper by artists including Picasso and de Kooning, as well as Alberto Giacometti, Frank Stella, David Smith, Claes Oldenburg, and others.

2nd Annual Frisco Arts Walk
Frisco Association for the Arts (Frisco Arts) will present the Second Annual Frisco Arts Walk on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 12:00pm - 7:00pm at HALL Park. Frisco Arts Walk is a free, immersive arts experience celebrating Frisco’s citywide art in public spaces. Frisco Arts Walk takes place at HALL Park among the Texas Sculpture Garden, the largest private collection of Texas sculptures ever assembled and made available to the public. Frisco Arts Walk will feature interactive performances, street musicians, artists-at-work, pop-up food truck park, children’s area complete with bounce houses, face painting and instrument petting zoo. New this year is a rare treat hosted by Steinway Hall Plano known as the Steinway Piano Red Carpet Performances. Steinway will provide a grand piano on a red carpet where amateur musicians may sign up for a 10 minute performance experience of a lifetime. In addition, the event will offer docent-guided tours of the indoor Texas Sculpture Garden, Otocast mobile audio guide of the sculpture park, artist and vendor booths, and a concert at the HALL Park amphitheater with the award-winning UNT Lab Bands and the UNT Jazz Singers.
