Basil Leaf restaurant, a quaint little Thai place, in the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth, started as a small diner with focus on carry-out and delivery. In 2006, Chef Won and his wife, Khun Nui, decided to expand the business by relocating to its current location at the Southeast corner of N. Beltline Rd and W. Walnut Hill Lane.
With more than twenty restaurants, including Thai, Japanese, Moroccan, Vietnamese, Chinese, Malaysian, Mexican, Italian, American, and Indian, the 2-mile stretch of N.Beltline Road between 183 and 161 has the potential to become a Texas-version of San Francisco's Richmond district. Their belief was confirmed when area restaurant owners greeted them with open arms. Next door neighbors, such as Khun Sam of Pad Thai restaurant and Carlos from Tios Carlos Bar and Restaurant, gave them valuable advice and encouragement. Needless to say, this is a wonderful restaurant community.
