Tortilleria la Sabrocita

If you're the kind of taco lover who believes it's all about the tortilla, you'll love La Sabrocita, a tortilleria-taqueria in Farmers Branch. Walk past the huge sacks of masa and tortilla-making equipment in front, and step up to the window. Order tacos to go (there's no seating), and you'll get juicy morsels of carne de res deshebrada (shredded beef), carnitas and more on fabulous, just-made corn (or flour) tortillas. They're elemental tacos: just the meat, ma'am, with lime, onions, cilantro and fiery red salsa on the side. But here's an even better idea: Buy a bag of hot tortillas, carnitas by the pound (that's the best meat here) and guacamole and salsa from the refrigerated case and throw a big taco party at home. The carnitas may be a little undersalted, but that's an easy fix, and they're irresistible: more to the super-tender and juicy than the crusty-crisp end of the spectrum.
