El Castor, the first Texas location of a popular Mexico-based restaurant opened February 15, 2010 in Meadow Central Market located at the northwest corner of N. Central Expressway and Meadow Road. Our inspiration for the cuisine comes from various regions of Mexico. We would like to offer our customers the best traditional Mexican seafood, such as the Gurache Kikappo (that features the color of the Mexican flag) and our delicious grilled cactus with shrimp stuffing topped with our special sauce and panela cheese. Also featuring a full bar with varieties of drink specials. With a deep passion for creating bold, unique and flavorful dishes, El Castor stands apart as a premier dining and drinking destination. El Castor has three established locations in Mexico serving home cooked, traditional recipes from its kitchen. We are a family owned and operated restaurant that has been in business since 2005. Ran by Silvia Mendez and sons Fernando and Juan Gerardo. After so many years operating the restaurant business in Mexico, we came up with the idea of expanding and wanting to cater traditional Mexican seafood in Texas. El Castor is committed to giving its customers a true, authentic Mexican seafood cooking by using fresh ingredients and all homemade recipes. We truly believe that every meal has no shortcuts.
