There's something so cheerful about La Paisanita, which occupies its own little white building on Maple Avenue. Blue- and-white checked oilcloths on the table, squirt bottles of tangy salsa verde and excellent tacos. I loved the barbacoa – tender, slow-cooked beef with deep, soulful flavor – and the tangy, melty al pastor. The meat comes in double midsize corn tortillas, with grilled onions, cilantro and lime on the side. They're a bargain, to boot, at just $1.17 apiece.
