Moody Coliseum

Southern Methodist University's Moody Coliseum, which opened on Dec. 3, 1956, serves as the home of SMU basketball and volleyball. Originally named SMU Coliseum, the facility was renamed in honor of W.L. Moody, Jr.
A new wood floor was installed in 1996 to commemorate SMU's entrance into the Western Athletic Conference. Other ameliorations to the building include chair-back seats, which were added to the floor level.
In addition to holding NCAA basketball and volleyball games, major tennis events, such as the World Championship of Tennis Finals, the Virginia Slims of Dallas tennis championship, the Rolex National Indoor Intercollegiate Tennis Championships, have also been held at Moody.
