The Trinity River Audubon Center, which opened October 18, 2008, features 120 acres of urban forest and an eco-friendly education building. The new municipal nature center is a partnership between the city of Dallas and the National Audubon Society.
Ongoing highlights at the center will include hiking, bird-watching, hands-on exhibits, conservation and outdoor-skills workshops, yoga classes and a children's discovery garden.
Admission will be free on the third Thursday of each month, which will include special concerts and activities.
