Coming up on Tuesday, April 17th at 7:30pm at The McKinney Avenue Contemporary is the fourth show in Dallas’ only storytelling series...for adults.
"It’s the perfect night of live theater: Nothing but a bare stage, a bar stool and regular people’s real stories — all taking up little more than an hour. Nicole carefully selects submissions and assembles the show to take the audience on an emotional journey. Some tales are heartwarming, some are hilarious, and others are absolutely remarkable."
-Steven Lindsey, Gay List Daily
The April show features seven stories on the theme “Have a Field Day.” From nostalgic tales of three-legged races to winning the State ring to losing all credibility by a press scandal, “Have a Field Day” is sure to pack the house.
The last show, “One Night Stand,” played to a sold-out crowd. “The quality of the writing...was...consistently interesting. What was most impressive, however, was the sincerity of the writers, who had the courage to put into words and read aloud to a big audience the secret parts of their lives that were funny, sad, sexual and even shocking - but needing to be shared.” -Elaine Liner, Dallas Observer
The last theme of the season is “Cooking with Gas” on May 15th. Stewart is currently accepting submissions. All shows will be held at The MAC in Uptown, 3120 McKinney Avenue, 75204. It’s a bright blue building and there is free parking in the lot. Further information and $10 tickets for purchase are available on the show’s website, www.oralfixationshow.com.
