WOUNDED WARRIORS PEDAL FROM SAN ANTONIO TO METROPLEX
More than 60 veterans left San Antonio March 30 and their 5th overnight stop Friday April 3, is Cleburne. Johnson County fanfare begins at Smith Middle School where the students in assembly will witness them cycle into the gym where Cleburne Mayor Ted Reynolds will present them a proclamation. Crowds will cheer them on as they continue past city landmarks including historic American Legion Post 50.
Friday night a banquet in their honor will be held at American Legion Post 426 in Alvarado. Limited banquet tickets are available and donations are accepted for the 501(c)3 organization.
There will be no less than two generals that accompany them on this leg of their journey and President Bush has been invited to participate as well.
Saturday departure from Cleburne will take the wounded warriors through Keene and Mansfield as they reach the Ballpark at Arlington to throw the first pitch.

WHAT:
The mission of R2R is to improve the health and wellness of wounded warriors by providing a life changing experience. This program is an American Supports You Homefront Group, a Defense Department program connecting citizens and companies with service members and their families. The participants have turned to cycling to boost their physical and mental rehabilitation.
