I made a major firearm purchase on sale from DFW Shooting Sports, LLC in Bedford Texas. The condition of the firearm was stated several times as new, from a lot they acquired from an investor and that nothing was wrong with it or any of the other firearms from this lot.
Returning home after the purchase and examining the firearm in detail I discovered the trigger guard been ground on and was disfigured. The store was already closed so I returned to the store at opening on the next business day to return it.
The store owner stated he could not accept the return or exchange. He stated that he knew the firearm had been ground on and that all the firearms from this lot had been. I noted that they had stated the firearm was new and that nothing was wrong with it. He stated he was in business to make money and regardless of what they state about their firearms it was up to the customer to exam their merchandise for defects before purchasing.
He offered to replace the firearm with another firearm without defects only if I paid full price and if I took almost a 50% lost on the original purchase.
The lesson again is the buyer needs to be aware and only do business with reputable firms that don’t misrepresent their merchandise and stand behind their sales.
